Hackney Wick as a wellness hub? Ten years ago, you’d have laughed. Now it’s the destination for London’s stretch and sculpt set. Pilates has well and truly taken over and studios seem to be multiplying by the minute.
East London’s former industrial fringe is firmly in its body-toning era. Each space comes with its own rhythm, crowd and cult-like following.
With so much choice, finding your studio can feel like a workout in itself. So, we’ve done the legwork for you, rounding up the key hotspots right now, plus details of their locals’ discounts and introductory offers, too…
YOURS
This Infrared Pilates sweat spot has quietly become one of the Wick’s most in-demand, drawing in London’s wellness loving, ‘it’ crowd and topping editor hot lists.
The studio leans into a stripped-back, design aesthetic that feels closer to a low-lit members’ club than a traditional fitness space. With infrared panels heating the room to a steamy 38°, expect to sweat - and then some!
Classes run for 50 mins and stay low impact but high intensity, combining weights, bands and functional flow sequences designed to leave muscles shaking and skin glowing – it’s a burn in the best way.
The Sculpt and Hot Pilates classes push things to the limit, while the Restore class offers a gentler reset. While all levels are technically welcome, this isn’t one for the faint-hearted. It inevitably draws a younger crowd but, beyond the mirror selfies, the teaching is genuinely top tier.
That post-class high? Totally addictive - and the kind that has you planning your entire week around your next session.

STRONG & BENDY REFORMER
Colourful, clean and refreshingly inclusive, S&B delivers exactly what it promises.
The OGs of Hackney Wick wellness, this much-loved independent studio expanded with a second space dedicated entirely to Reformer last year, conveniently (or awkwardly) located right next door to Yours.
Unpretentious and community-led, it’s about as approachable as Reformer Pilates gets. Instructors are warm and welcoming, but don’t mistake that for easy - they know their stuff and won’t hesitate to correct your form.
Classes are intentionally small, so whether you opt for Juicy, Spicy or Chill, expect a session that leaves you feeling longer, stronger and noticeably better than when you walked in.

FS8
For those who like Reformer but crave a bit more burn, FS8 might hit the sweet spot.
A sister concept to the high-intensity F45, FS8 blends Pilates, strength training and yoga into one hybrid, low-impact but high-energy functional workout. Think Reformer machines paired with dumbbells and resistance bands, all working towards strength, mobility and flexibility.
It’s different, and puritans might not get it – but there’s no denying it ticks all the boxes as a one-stop-shop for movement, fitness and mindset.
The studio overlooks the water, its clean, modern and the staff are friendly. Despite being part of a larger chain, there’s a sense of community at this studio and memberships undoubtedly lead to friendships off the machines and mats.
A feel-good studio in every sense.

🏷️5 class intro for £59
If Reformer prices feel a stretch, Social Yoga offers a more accessible alternative without compromising on quality. This independent, community-focused studio on Fish Island keeps things calm, friendly and refreshingly down to earth.
It’s particularly welcoming for beginners, with a strong emphasis on helping people feel comfortable in their own bodies. There may be fewer frills, but the teaching holds its own against anywhere else in the area.
When it comes to value for money in Hackney Wick, this one is hard to beat.

THE ISLAND
For those serious about technique and chasing that long, lean Reformer physique, The Island is one to know. Small but polished, it offers one of the closest experiences locally to traditional Reformer Pilates.
Expect slow, precise movements that target muscles you didn’t know existed. Stick with it, and results come quickly. Just be sure to book ahead, as The Island’s classes fill up fast, which tells you everything you need to know.

LEVEL OUT
A solid choice for Reformer newcomers, Level Out strikes a balance between accessibility and quality. Part of a wider chain, the East Village studio has a stripped-back, almost industrial feel.
It’s less community-driven than some independents, but the workouts are consistent, effective and well-priced (by Reformer standards).
A reliable option for anyone looking to get started.
