CIG aboard the Milk Float in August

The CIG + Social Drinks returns for October’s edition this evening - all welcome. Join us at The Lord Napier from 4pm…

The main picture above (from a mere two months ago), when we packed aboard a boiling hot midsummer Milk Float to discuss ways to protect and grow East London’s nightlife, alternative currencies and other hot topics of local interest.

The CIG is back tonight in the thankfully-cosy convivial setting of The Lord Napier, where we’ll hear about the success of the pub’s online campaign to fight the building of flat right next door to their garden and terrace, alongside a whole host of other stakeholders (see box below) ending with product tasting by Tradestars-based drinks company Sonic Tonics, and then more drinks at the bar through to 7pm.

Would be lovely to see familiar faces - and some new ones too - as we continue to deliver a range of IRL social events as part of The Wick’s support for the permanent sustainable creative economy in this part of town.

Also, we’re finishing off the final pages of the autumn print magazine right now (do reach out by replying to this email if you want to take any last minute advertisements for your Xmas and New Year offerings!) and that means news of an upcoming issue 22 launch party ahoy, too.

This time, we’ve teamed up with cover-star-in-waiting Vane MG, the Columbian-born street artist whose work you’ll recognise from local walls - and galleries too. Sign up for free limited tickets now and we’ll let you know the secret location of her studio near Roman Road the day before the event, which will run from 6pm on Fri 13th Nov.
